I ran accounts at Ogilvy and Crispin. My job was making sure clients got the work they deserved — managing the P&L, coordinating every department, and being the person accountable when something fell short. That is how I run Braive today.
I started this company building strategy and insights tools. Spent about four months learning that I was building something I assumed people wanted without testing whether they actually did. What I built was relevant to a very small audience and was going to be replaced by the same large AI models I was building on top of. So I stopped.
I started doing the work instead. Got into speed-to-lead through a friend in personal injury law, where response time is everything. Ran my first engagements across a few different industries — orthodontics, real estate, wholesale — and saw the same pattern everywhere: the leads were there, the follow-up wasn't.
Mortgage is where I stayed. It is an industry stuck about ten years behind, sitting on enormous transaction values with unsophisticated systems holding it together. I had a background in healthcare marketing at the agency level, which was the same story — critical industry, outdated operations. When I saw the same thing in lending, I knew that was where I could make the biggest difference. I also had years of personal real estate investment experience and agency-level work with lending companies, so the industry made sense.
CUSO Home Lending was the moment it clicked. We saw how much value we created for a single lender and realized every mortgage operation we looked at had the same problems. That became the business.
